A kinetic and engrossing triptych - Erotic Fan Fiction’s debut release on Eastern Nurseries sees the London-based composer build on his distinctive combination of experimental electronics and immersive storytelling. Following on a series of digital synecdoches via EFF’s own imprint, Steep Incline, “Memory Banks” continues Matt Soczywko’s sharp cinematic approach to world-building.

Rippling with terse flittering synth progressions, explosive sound design and a veiled sense of angst, “Memory Banks” delivers a fast-paced succession of flashing, fragmented images. All the while EFF's harsh textured storylines blend in a subdued sensibility, awash with lush pads and bass swells; delicate arpeggios playing the uneasiest of melodies – a magnesium flashed snapshot of our own tumultuous modern life as seen from the driver's seat.

Accompanied with a music video for “Fireworks”, directed by Henry Lockyer and Matt Soczywko himself, “Memory Banks” imparts a singular vision of city life, a document of its inherent contradictions and the beauty that lies therein.
