Jose Francisco Carsí Navarro An electronic cinematic base mixed with female vocals is a new experience inside Victor M. Hidalgo discography. A good prologue of what this new lineup can give to the underground scene. Favorite track: Embers.

about

Berlin-based duo Workforce is the caustic love-child of Víctor Hidalgo and Josey Heyes - a sardonic collaborative powerhouse. Extending from their catwalk aesthetics and performative-based roots, “The Flood” sees Workforce at their peak musicality to date. Combining harsh and cutting electronics with a sense of twisted dystopian glamour, the duo’s second release sees the project pronounce its acid-tongued lyricism and esotericism with a biting wit. A brilliantly executed, blood spattered canvas of pure ecstasy and mania.

A noisy vortex of heavy, slow-burning pop anthems, familiar yet non-conformative, “The Flood” is ultimately a piece of tremendous transgressive allure; one that grabs you by the throat and drags you through a lurid, violent journey into its belly. It is music as a flag of resilience, a song of hope in the age of collapse - both a safehouse and a scorched-earth testament to youth. A comment that eviscerates as it extends a consolation.

Love is a flaming molotov in parabolic flight.
